So glad Gustav wasn’t as bad as it could have been. I know it has been frustrating for those who had to leave their homes when it turned out not to be so bad, but there was significant damage to utilities and the threat was real. Better to be safe than sorry. We have to learn from history and sometimes, yes, we do over react. But no one ever wants to see another event like Katrina! Did You Feel That?
We were rolling and shaking this morning here in Southern CA. Fortunately it was just a “moderate” earthquake, and we have laws governing structures so that we don’t experience the level of damage a 5.4 quake could cause elsewhere in the world. At the same time, we are reminded that there is a 5% chance that this can be a pre-quake to a much larger one within 24 hours and that makes for some serious nerves.
