• Review Draft Competencies for Clinical Nurse Specialists

    The ANA (American Nurses Assoc.) is asking nurses to review the draft competencies and specific behaviors for entry-level Clinical Nurse Specialists and to take a survey which rates theses items and provides feedback about how these competencies reflect the current practice and academic preparation in your role as a CNS. The information and survey will be available until May 24,2008. 

  • Help Encourage Increased Funding for Nursing Workforce Development Programs

    On Feb 25, 2008, Congressional Representatives Lois Capps (D-CA) and Steven LaTourette(R-OH) began circulating a “Dear Colleagues” letter in the House of Representatives seeking support of funding the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Program at a level of $200 million for FY 2009. The American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing are asking nurses for help. Nurses are encouraged to contact(by phone, FAX. or Email) their Congressional Representative to encourage him/her to co-sign this letter by Wednesday, March 12, 2008.   • Virtual Voting Booth Open at ANA

    Members of ANA can cast a vote for their presidential candidate in the Virtual Voting Booth until January 17. This vote will help ANA decide which candidates nurses feel will be the strongest advocates for nurses. Also on the ANA site, public comment is being sought for Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Administration. Here is your chance to speak out and voice your opinion!
