I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Admittedly, it was a little rough around the edges for me and my family. We had some losses of family and friends. It’s probably the main reason I haven’t posted in a while, but now it’s time to move forward with the new year and focus on setting intentions. While others are making and even breaking resolutions already, I choose to set Intentions. Resolutions have a connotation for something that needs to be fixed or resolved and in a quick time frame. Resolutions can be too easily rejected or cast aside when it becomes too much to carry them out. Usually, a…

New Edition: Home Health Aide Instructor Manual
I was privileged to receive a review copy of the Home Health Aide: Guidelines for Care, Instructor Manual Third Edition, ©2020. I can’t say enough about this manual, I love every aspect of it! Understanding the Stages of Pulmonary Fibrosis: A Guide for Caregivers
What is Pulmonary Fibrosis? By Brenda Kimble Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a respiratory disease where the lungs slowly lose the ability to function due to scarring. Pulmonary fibrosis is treatable, but there is currently no cure for the disease. Treatments that are offered to PF patients will not reverse the damage that has already been done to the lungs, nor will it make the…

Over time, we became very good at population health and now we are often asked to present our “best practices.” What’s the secret to our success? The long answer often includes a description of our IT investments. No doubt the advent of electronic medical records has made us better — instead of reacting to illness, we…
