Primary care providers treat patients of many ages with a variety of health problems. Sometimes called “family doctors,” physicians who have typically filled this role are aging and many of their younger counterparts aren’t willing to fill their shoes. BREAKING NEWS– US Senate Proposes Companion Bill for The National Nurse Act of 2015
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Honoring National Nurses Day, Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) today introduced the bipartisan National Nurse Act of 2015, legislation that would elevate the role of nurses in America’s public health by designating a National Nurse for Public Health. HR 379 was introduced in the House of Representatives in January, 2015 by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) and Rep. Pete King (R-NY). Now there is a companion bill in the Senate. Rep. Today begins the annual week long celebration of the nursing profession. No you won’t be buried in lavish gifts! If you’re really lucky perhaps you”ll receive a small token of appreciation and maybe a buffet of breakfast or lunch. And no, even if the employer kept that money, you couldn’t get a significant raise from it. Celebrate YOU all by yourself perhaps or with your co-workers if you’re lucky to have some wonderful ones.
