Nurses Week is celebrated in the US every year from May 6-12. Worldwide, the celebration varies but is sometime during those dates. May 6 is Nurses Day, and May 12 is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
The Year of the Nurse and Midwife was set for 2020 in honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. However, we all know how 2020 went! The American Nurses Association extended the Year of the Nurse and Midwife to 2021. Things are improving, but we’re not out of the woods yet from the COVID-19 pandemic. None the less we need to Celebrate Nursing! And take time for Self Care!
Contributions Welcome
Last year was way too chaotic and I didn’t hold a Give Away event for Nurses Week. This year it will return!! I have some great items lined up from some fabulous vendors such as coffee from Fire Department Coffee, a scrub jacket from Medilita along with discount codes for non-winners. We can always use more to honor nurses!!!
If you or your company have a product, service, book, course, etc. that you’d like to donate, please contact me ASAP. It could be an actual item or a gift card. Or perhaps you know someone who’d like to donate a few gift cards to Starbucks or Amazon. For your generosity, I will showcase you and your donation in at least 2 blog posts that get shared on all of my social media.
Nurses Week Give Aways from The Nursing Site
Meanwhile, take a sneak peak at the items my daughter is donating from her epoxy resin art business. We will give away 5 keychain charms, one beachy resin wall art, and your choice of coaster or trinket tray. You can also view and purchase these items from my website ANewNurse.com. See more of Amy’s gorgeous work at the AmyQuanShop on Etsy. These items make great Nurses Week gifts as well as Graduation, Holiday, Birthday and Just Because gifts for nurses.
